About TT CSOs for Business

This project aimed to build capacity within 40 (forty) Trade Associations, Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce in Trinidad and Tobago. The CSOs were encouraged to strengthen their organisations, network for collaboration, and advocate for a better business environment.

The 2.5 year project started in January 2018 and was supported by the European Union (EU). All project activities were implemented collaboratively by UWI Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business (UWI Lok Jack GSB), Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) and The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT) .

TT CSOs for Business Build Capacity

TT CSOs for Business built capacity through workshops in the areas of Leadership, Corporate Governance, Advocacy, Financing for Sustainability, Grant Fund Writing and Media Awareness for Civil Society Organisations.  The facilitators of the workshops included Dr. Ron Sookram, Mirza Ali-Mohammed, Rebecca Robinson, Niall Legerton and Kris Granger.

The Power of Partnership for Business

These workshops were supplemented with Conference “The Power of Partnership for Business” and the closing webinar with the theme “The Role of Business CSOs in a Covid 19 World”. The Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce were able to discuss the issues that affect them and the priorities of their membership. The project also provided three (3) collaborative sub grants to the participating CSOs, so that they could tackle issues that affect them together.
