The impending full proclamation of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act (the PPDPPA) is revolutionary to Trinidad and Tobago. Procurement officers must now take ownership of procurement with the diminution of the role of Boards’ Tenders Committees.
This practical certificate builds on the existing knowledge and skills of procurement practitioners and equips them with the tools to transition into the new procurement regime.
Learning Objectives
This programme will focus on the powers and regulatory functions of the Office of Procurement Regulation, the rights and obligations of purchasers and suppliers and their respective duties and liabilities. Participants will leave this workshop with an understanding of the function and role of sound public procurement, an appreciation and understanding of the institutional structures under the PPDPPA and exposure to corruption fighting tools and measures in public procurement.
