Noel M. Cowell is Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Management Studies at The University of the West Indies, Mona. He has been teaching at the tertiary level for over 2o years. His areas of emphasis include Employment Relations, Labour and Employment Law, Business Negotiations and Compensation Management. He has been teaching at the Lok Jack School of Business since 2007, where he focuses on Contemporary Industrial Relations.
Dr Cowell received his PhD in Industrial Relations from The University of Toronto and has edited four books (http://openlibrary.org/b/OL3735947M). He is also author or co-author of number of articles and reports covering, industrial relations and human resource management issues. His latest book, Ethical Perspectives for Caribbean Business, edited with Archibald Campbell, Gavin Chen and Stanford Moore was published by Arawak Press in September 2007 (http://www.amazon.com/Ethical-Perspectives-Caribbean-Business-Cowell/dp/9768189606).
Dr Cowell’s research interest covers all aspects of worker management relations. Most recently he has conducted research on homosexuality and work and the impact of criminal violence on human resource management practices.
