Dale Prescott
I am the holder of a Master in Business Administration specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition to my education in business management I have also obtained a B.Sc. in Computing and Information Systems from the University of London. Since the completion of these studies I have worked within the Public Service of Trinidad and Tobago and within state enterprises, all within the Information Technology field. My career started in 1997 with a short stint in banking and progressed from the role of Technician to Information Technology Manager within the Public Service.
In today’s dynamic and rapidly changing global environment, there is the need for exceptional management executives who possess a blend of vision, innovativeness and global thinking in order to achieve results. Over the last eight years I have utilised these skills, coupled with my planning and analytical skills, in my leadership capacity to consistently increase operational efficiency, reduce costs and transform organisations into knowledge-centric ones. Some highlights of my career include (1) Increasing Wide Area Network Uptime from a highly-unreliable system with frequent downtime to one with high-availability and support for a cross section of services; (2) Creation of a knowledge-based organisation using enterprise technologies, hardware replacements and software upgrades which resulted in savings and increased efficiency; (3) Implementation of a governance model with a view of reducing expenditure and controlling budgets to ensure alignment with national development goals; (4) Development of strategic plans resulting in increased security, with a view of reducing threats and increasing privacy and the security of data.
My ability to communicate with persons at various levels of the organisation coupled with the skills acquired as an educator have allowed me to be successful at all my endeavours. My work experience affords me the ability to provide excellent managerial skills and to add value from a technical perspective as well as a leadership perspective to any organisation. In a personal capacity I’m a lover of dogs, family life, our culture and way of life and most notably, vacations.
