Customer-Centric New Product Development


Developing new products is one of the single most important elements in both new and established businesses. Millions of dollars and many years are spent developing new products that on average fail more often than they succeed. The aim of this workshop is to develop the interdisciplinary skills needed for successful new product development in today's competitive marketplace.

The workshop is intended for a broad range of businesses in which development of new products is critical for the long-term success.The workshop will examine the strategies and methods that successful companies have used to bring out a continuous stream of successful new products. The workshop will also focus on the tools, techniques and concepts necessary to the design, development, and management of innovation in product based businesses.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Describe tools that strengthen the product development.
  • Identify the various steps involved in new product development.
  • Practice idea generation and screening utilising opportunity analysis trends, feasibility and financial analysis.
  • Identify the audiences, purposes, components and the processes for developing and evaluating ideas for new products.


The facilitator will actively engage participants and challenge their ideas, knowledge and understanding of new product development as practiced in many successful companies in the world. This workshop is delivered using classroom discussions, lectures, handouts, videos and a simulation to develop a new product.

Facilitator: Dr. Raghava Rao Gundala 

Dr. Raghava Rao Gundala received his Ph. D. in Marketing and has over 18 years of experience teaching in the USA, Middle East, the Caribbean, Europe and India. He has taught and designed various courses to the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in higher education as well as programmes specialising in Professional Development. His research interests center on the areas of International Marketing, Branding, Consumer Behaviour, and New Product Development Marketing in the Developing Economies. Dr. Gundala is also an active trainer who designed and conducted several workshops and marketing consultancies for his clients. Dr. Gundala also supervises PhD and MPhil programmes and has successfully supervised students to their completion level.

If ALJGSB cancels the training due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of ALJGSB, you are entitled to a full refund of the course fee, or your course fee can be credited toward a future training, based upon availability (providing payments have been made before original advertised date).
