Assertiveness

Overview

The Power and Potential of Constructive Confrontation

Assertiveness Workshop

Do you lack the courage to speak up for yourself? Are you having a hard time saying "no" to others? Are you afraid to express your opinion due to fear of conflict? If this is so, you may lack assertiveness. Assertiveness is a style of communication that empowers you to speak out and stand up for yourself in respectful ways.

Being assertive means expressing your wants while being mindful of the opinions, wants and feelings of others. Assertiveness is critical for feeling empowered at work and at home. Being assertive empowers you by giving you confidence, self-esteem and enhanced decision-making skills. In addition, the more assertive you become, the better able you are to face problems or conflicts with poise, confidence and a clearer head. Assertiveness improves self-respect and will ensure that you have a better chance of earning the respect of others so that you feel "in control" of situations.

In this highly interactive workshop, you will learn the guidelines and principles for understanding your rights, standing up for yourselves and mastering the art of the conversation to get what you want.

Opportunity does not knock; it presents itself when you beat down the door. — Kyle Chandler
