Design, Development & Implementation of an EAP

Overview

This workshop provides a comprehensive understanding of the philosophy and workings of an Employee Assistance Programme. It is especially suited for professionals about to establish Employee Assistance Programmes in their respective organisations. The conceptual framework and steps involved are fully explained.

Target Audience

Managers, Supervisors, HR personnel, Health Care practitioners, Health and Safety personnel, Team Leaders and others interested in developing an EAP in the Workplace.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the mechanisms behind a functional EAP.
  • Design an EAP Policy suited to their specific work environment of their organisation.
  • Educate their peers at work as to the benefits of the EAP.
  • Develop marketing strategies to ensure that EAP information reaches all employees, including their dependant relatives.
  • Constructively confront troubled employees and facilitate referral to the EAP provider.
  • Foster a productive relationship with the EAP provider.
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor the quality of EAP service by the provider.
  • Develop benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of the EAP over time.

Programme Outline

Topics covered in this workshop include:

Facilitator: Steve Bailey

Steve Bailey is the Managing Director of Behavioural Consultancy Services Limited (BCS) and a Fellow of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists. He is also a former teacher of Psychology at the Institute of Tertiary Tutors and at the University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies. Steve has over 15 years' experience in the field of Behaviour Modification. His practice includes psychotherapy, stress management, substance abuse therapy and hypnotherapy, working with individuals and family units in issues relating to work related problems, family discord, deviance and other psychosocial problems. He has had additional training in implementing and promoting Employee Assistance Programmes.

Certification

Certificates will only be issued to participants who have attained a minimum attendance rate of 75% for the duration of the course.

Course Cancellation/ Reschedule Policy

Arthur Lok Jack GSB (ALJGSB) reserves the right to cancel training at any time. If ALJGSB cancels the training due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of ALJGSB, you are entitled to a full refund of the course fee, or your course fee can be credited toward a future training, based upon availability (providing payments have been made before original advertised date).

ALJGSB reserves the right to reschedule training at any time. If ALJGSB reschedules training due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of ALJGSB, the training will take place at the next available time. Participants will be informed via phone and/or e-mails.
