Lok Jack GSB Joins EMBA Council

Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (Lok Jack GSB) has acquired membership in the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Council - a US-based organisation which includes the top providers of Executive MBA programmes. This will facilitate networking and collaboration with other leading business schools and further enhance the international standing of Lok Jack GSB.

Lok Jack GSB is accredited by the United Kingdom’s Association of MBAs (AMBA) and is also registered as a business education provider by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.

Membership in the EMBA Council further strengthens the Business School’s emphasis on quality assurance and presents the Lok Jack GSB with the following opportunities:

  • Direct involvement with directors of Executive MBA Programmes worldwide who set standards for the industry;
  • Access to peers who are willing to share ideas and practices on issues such as student recruitment, student expectations, and alumni support;
  • Annual aggregate data and statistics on students and programmes that offer a profile of the industry;
  • Ability to participate in surveys that measure the satisfaction of students and benchmarking against similar programmes;
  • Information about trends in the industry;
  • Regional meetings and a national conference that offer rich resources and support personal and professional development;
  • Chance to serve the industry and increase networking by serving on Executive MBA Council committees or its Board of Trustees.

EMBA Council membership is also in line with the business school’s international outreach mission. Lok Jack GSB’s Acting Executive Director, Professor Mark Oakley, is a member of the International Accreditation Board of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and regularly chairs MBA assessment panels at business schools around the world.
The School is a founding member of the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Management Education Initiative and was the first academic institution in the region to become a signatory to the UN’s Global Compact. This compact is a voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility initiative which was launched by the United Nations in 2000 and aims to bring together companies, UN agencies, labour and civil society to support universal environmental and social principles.
