Balanced Scorecard

The IOB will soon be launching its programme on Balanced Scorecard. This is a managerial tool that can be used to formulate, measure and execute strategy.

It is a framework of integrated multi-dimensional strategic objectives and derived performance measurements linked rationally through cause and effect relationships and translated into action steps through targets, initiatives and resource allocations.

Balanced Scorecards tell the story of the strategy so well that the strategy can be inferred by the collection of objectives and measures and readily discernable cause-effect relationships among them. It makes the business model unambiguous to all.

Picking A Winner

The most direct route to rapid profitable growth is through increased sales of existing products and services. This requires a focused and appropriate sales resource that is strategically directed and controlled.

However, most sales organisations have grown up ad hoc. This class will provide an opportunity for you to take an in-depth look at your sales organisation and to consider the roles and structure by comparison with established frameworks and leading examples.

Corporate Valuation

A clear understanding of what drives the valuation is essential to making robust business decisions and creating shareholder value. However, many companies continue to rely on informal rules of thumb.

In this three-day course, we will learn that the determinants of value are a company’s ability to generate cash and the timing and risk of those cash flows. We will discuss several discounted cash flow methods as well as their practical application in emerging markets.

The course will be taught with a mix of theory and hands-on practice using spreadsheet models as well as case studies from Harvard Business School and Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.

Value Based Management

With increasing competitive pressures of a global economy, it is important to understand how managerial decisions impact company value. Companies must ensure that managers take all operating and strategic decisions with a strict focus on long-term value creation, as if they were the owners and entrepreneurs running their own businesses.

This one-day workshop addresses the need for management practices and corporate culture that align managers with shareholders to drive the company value higher.
