MBA Students Return from China Study Tour

Twenty nine (29) students of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business’ MBA programmes are now imbued with a more global mindset having recently returned from a two week study tour to China.

This initiative grew out of the business school’s premise to take the MBA experience to another level by equipping students with skills that will serve them beyond the classroom and build their international experience.

The MBA students comprise managers and executives from a wide cross section of corporate Trinidad who are charged with increasing the relevance and responsiveness of their companies to the changing business environment. They have returned from China with a more global perspective and understanding of the unique cultural, economic and political forces at work in one of the world’s fastest growing economies. Project Risk Management - January 9th, 10th, 11th, 2006

Risk management has become increasingly more visible as an integrated component of an effective project management plan. In this course, students learn to identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks. The course also explores risk response control and the development of lessons learned with the purpose of developing an organizational history for future projects. Through the use of lectures, exercises, a case study, and classroom discussion, students gain both practical knowledge that can be applied to current projects and basic knowledge that will aid in preparation for the PMP® certification examination. The potential for organisational improvement and competitiveness--whether related to customer service, productivity, or innovation--is directly related to the performance of the organisation's employees.
