Determining your Career

Establishing a career is not always as easy as it may appear. It requires:

  • An investment of time, effort and money in your personal development

  • Acquiring the knowledge and skills in the specific field; and

  • Finding an opportunity to express our talent and become recognised

If we are clear about what we are called to do, then finding our career path can be a simple, straightforward process. However, if we are uncertain, we can spend a lot more time, effort and money than necessary in finding our fit.

At the AIEC, we can help you find that simpler, more strategic path to meeting your career goals through our Career Personality Profiling and Development Planning services.

By discovering your Career Profile and designing a Development Plan that would allow you to meet your career goals, we can help you make the most of your investment.

Getting the job

In order to get the job we want, we have to be able to demonstrate our knowledge, skills and distinguishing characteristics convincingly enough to show that we are right for the job.

Interviews and Assessment Centres provide us with excellent opportunities to show our competence. However, to get our foot in the door we first have to adequately highlight, via our resume, that we meet the requirements for the job.

The Resume and Interview creates the employer's first impression of you. As it is often said, first impressions last, hence you want to have a powerful and positive impact.

The AIEC can help you in making your best impression through our one-to-one or group sessions on effective Resume and CV writing, and Interview and Assessment Centre preparation.

Representing the Organisation

Being an effective professional is about more than just acquiring the academic qualification or being good at what you do. In a competitive environment, where everyone can show on paper the necessary qualifications or experience. The thing that gets us noticed and makes a difference is how we present ourselves.

We must be able to:

  • Demonstrate that we have the knowledge and skills to do the job

  • Convince an employer or a client why we are the best choice

  • Highlight what makes us distinctive; and

  • Build a sense of confidence

The AIEC offers a range of services that will teach you how to best present yourself, a product or service, in order to best represent your organisation. This will assist in getting you the right kind of attention and help you establish your career.

Our Executive Education Centre offers Open Enrolment Programmes in these areas.
