Foreign Language Policy
Philosophy
Lok Jack GSB's foreign language offering is founded on our philosophy to empower adult learners in primarily the Executive MBA, Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Marketing and International MBA programmes with competent foreign language skills appropriate for communicating, negotiating meaning and socialising with a good degree of proficiency in the target language environment.
Consequently, it is this business school's imperative:
"To develop and implement the highest quality specialised foreign language programmes and courses consistent with sound and informed research, methodology and training methods and subsequently to train and deliver courses to our business students. The Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business provides training in Business Spanish, Specialized Spanish language courses, other foreign languages and Cross Cultural Communication studies locally, regionally and internationally.”
Language Policy
Students are required to pursue a language during their course of study. The options are either Spanish or Mandarin Chinese. Both are non-credit offerings, but are examinable. The language offering is an important element of our academic programmes as they help to build communication skills that are critical for doing business in a globalised environment. The Lok Jack GSB language component is a pre-requisite for going forward in all academic programmes.
